Taking account of persisting COVID-19 impact on both traveling possibilities and the financial support of\u00a0physical conferences by Universities and related organizations, the COV11 Local Organizing Committee\u00a0(LOC), the IAVCEI Executive Committee, and Cities and Volcanoes (CAV) Commissioners have\u00a0decided to\u00a0hold the 2022 conference in hybrid format<\/strong>,\u00a0i.e. including virtual access<\/strong>, in order to enable a maximum\u00a0of interested members to participate. Cities on Volcanoes conferences typically promote networking and face-to-face exchanges. Although we\u00a0expect and encourage a physical presence of most participants to COV11 in June 2022, with networking\u00a0opportunities and social events full of local flavors, at the same time we are ready to meet the need of\u00a0those who will not be able to join us in beautiful Crete island or\/and will choose to participate virtually.\u00a0We invite you to stay tuned for the announcement of virtual registrations fees by early September 2021.
